About 2300 young hockey players from 16 countries go to Quebec, Canada to participate in the "World Championships of Pee-Wee Hockey". This tournament takes place during a period of 11 days with crowds totaling around 200,000 fans, every year. This extraordinary event very popular, was founded in 1960 and has never ceased to grow in importance.
Many stars from the National Hockey League have passed through this Tournament: Brad Park, Guy Lafleur, Marcel Dionne, Gilbert Perrault, Mark Howe, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Sylvain Côté, Eric Lindros, Patrick Roy, etc. Several of the games will be carried on ESPN Canada. The team will play at least one of their games in the 27,000 seat COLISEE PEPSI ARENA, and the players will stay with French-Canadian billet families during the entire tournament period, creating a sporting and cultural experience that will be remembered by these boys for a lifetime.
The 17 players on this year's team have worked hard to raise money towards their travel expenses, hosting a tournament, cookouts, and 50/50 raffles since the beginning of the season. They are are asking for donations and sponsorships from the community to support them in fulfilling this exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
